InControl
Studies have shown that 50% of software faults originate in the development environment. Any faults detected later in the software development process are between 5 to 50 times more expensive in comparison.
InControl is a service focused on taking back ownership of your system quality through intelligent use of test automation to stop poor quality releases from reaching the test, user acceptance, pre-production and production environments ensuring earlier defect detection and reduced costs.
For software releases deployed from the development to test environments, IOVIO develops an automated “Intake” test set to ensure minimum level of quality from your development team. An Intake test set is a subset of end-to-end business process tests executed in the development environment OnDemand. These test cases determine the minimum level of release quality that is acceptable for your business and whether or not the current release is of high enough quality to start a full test campaign.
If the tests executed within the “intake” test set pass, then the release is taken into the formal testing phase for automated validation. If the tests do not pass then the defects are found, captured and fixed in the development environment. As they are fully automated, the cost of execution is minimal, fast and the quality consistent. More importantly - the cost of conformance is at least one-fifth of the cost of finding it in the testing environment, reporting and examining a defect and then fixing it.
